Shelving
Wholesale Material Handling offers two types of shelving
to meet your requirements, boltless shelving and steel shelving
Boltless Shelving
Boltless shelving utilizes a steel framework generally with
a 5/8” particle board shelf. Because of the particle board
shelves, boltless shelving is generally less expensive than
steel shelving. Units can also be up to 4’ x 8’, significantly
larger than the largest steel shelving available. Boltless
shelving does not require any x-bracing, so units can be loaded
from all 4 sides. Limitations of boltless are that it is always
open and does not allow for closed sides and backs and dividers
and doors are not available.
Steel Shelving
Steel shelving is a 100% steel system. Shelves are generally
3’ or 4’ in width. Shelf depths range from 12”D-36”D. Different
gauge shelves offer a multitude of capacities. Steel units
can be either open or closed. Closed units have side and back
panels to keep product in units. Options of steel shelving
include: dividers, bin fronts and doors. There is significantly
more flexibility with steel shelving, but the larger amount
of steel generally makes it more expensive than boltless.
